BRIAN
MUNFORD
Brian Munford is chef and co-owner of Patina Grill, located in the quickly
growing Short Pump area. Brian learned the restaurant trade in the coastal
area just north of San Francisco, amid a wealth of international influences,
remarkable natural bounty, and the food revolution of the 1980's. Before
opening Patina, he spent time at several Richmond restaurants including
Millie's and Havana '59, and also in Charlottesville at Metropolitain
and Mono Loco. Since opening in 1998, Patina Grill has provided innovative
fine dining in the far West End. Selected as the best restaurant in the
West End by readers of Richmond Magazine in 1999, 2000, and 2001.
MARK
WALSH
Mark Walsh has been in the restaurant business for 25 years traveling
from Pennsylvania to California, and now Virginia for the last 11 years.
His family opened a restaurant in Pennsylvania in 1977, and owned it for
ten more successful years. He learned the basics early on from his father,
Robert, and afterwards spent a decade honing his skills in numerous restaurants
around San Francisco. Mark took a short hiatus to teach tennis for a few
years in the early 90's, and after that he started a lighting consulting
business while tending bar at Patina. Mark has been at Patina Grill since
the first day and according to him, "this is a fantastic place to
work; the staff is superior and the guests that come to dine at Patina
make my job a pleasure." When he's not at Patina, he likes to spend
time with his family, play guitar, and play tennis.
