In
June 1998, the neighborhoods growing around Short Pump welcomed
a newcomer to Richmond's fine dining restaurants. Following a few
month's of construction, Patina Grill opened in the Shops at Wellesley,
celebrating with music from Bio Ritmo, food from the new kitchen,
and air conditioning a far-away dream.
The
remodeling was done by some of our area's finest craftspeople, carrying
out the design of Brian Munford and Sosie Hublitz. The scagiola wall and
the stucco finish around the restaurant were done by Jon Lofgren.
All the copper was fitted and installed by Jimmy Bartlowe of Fineline
Roofing in Charlottesville, and the walnut finished and fitted by
R.D. Higgs, who you're more likely to find building boats than bars.
The
lighting installation and electrical work were done by Don Merwin,
as were several improvements we've made since opening. Gayle MacGehee,
Tom Brickman, and Matt Lewis were all instumental in multiple areas
of the retrofit.
Patina
Grill's goal is to provide the West End with a restaurant dedicated
to innovative, tasteful cuisine; well-prepared, and of the finest
quality. We also take pride in our professional service staff, and
creative bar. And we hope this site provides our guests a simple
way to tell us about their experiences or suggestions. Thanks for
coming!
